Welcome!

Welcome to the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Climate Network

This website is designed for people who are passionate about tackling climate change and protecting our planet. It highlights the incredible work already happening in our local communities – showcasing projects that flourish, expand, and inspire others to take action.

It’s an initiative of the Local Authorities Energy Partnership (LAEP), a collaboration of councils across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, and Nottinghamshire and in partnership with energy charities, Nottingham Energy Partnership (NEP) and Marches Energy Agency (MEA).

Each section is packed with exciting, real-world solutions – from low-carbon lifestyles to generating clean energy. No matter where you are on your sustainability journey, there's something new to explore.

This is a space where individuals and groups can promote local events, projects, share initiatives, and find new ways to make a difference together. Whether you're looking for fresh ideas, practical solutions, or opportunities to get involved, this is the place to connect with impactful projects and inspiring movements.

You’ll be amazed at the momentum already building – and how easy it is to be part of the change. Stay updated on local events – subscribe to our monthly Community Climate Action Network newsletter below!

“When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. But when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are working to make things better.”
— Maya Angelou, American writer, poet, and civil rights activist.
